The Tri Hita Karana Foundation (THK) is preparing to hold another prestigious annual awarding and accreditation event for a number of companies in the tourism sector that always preserve traditional Balinese philosophy in practicing their harmonious relationship with society, God and the environment.
The Chairperson of the Tri Hita Karana Bali Foundation, I Gusti Ngurah Wisnu Wardana, said that the 2023 THK awards were planned to be held in November.
"Until now, 33 hotels and 2 tourist destinations or tourist destinations have been registered which are ready to be accredited and assessed. But the number of participants will still increase, given the closing of registration, it will only end at the end of June," explained Wisnu Wardana who was met after a refreshing meet together team of assessors and participants of the 2023 THK Awards at Paon Bali, Campus of IPB International, Jalan Kecak, Denpasar, Friday 9 June 2023.
According to Wisnu Wardana, the presence of this year's THK Awards received positive appreciation, especially from the hotels involved. Because after 3 years the THK Foundation did not give awards and accreditation as a whole.
"Because since the impact of the Covid pandemic in 2020-2022, we have only conducted THK CSR and THK Appreciation Awards. Thankfully for 2023, we are back with full awards," he said.
He also explained that the full award in question was the re-holding of the THK Awards and Accreditation which is an award program for tourism entrepreneurs and has been running since 2000.
Then the THK Public Relations (PR) Simpatik Award, as a form of appreciation for the best figure who always continues to socialize the THK concept in the workplace and in the wider community. Besides that, there is also the THK Melapa Melapi Awards, which is a competition to present the best traditional Balinese culinary.
Wisnu Wardana further added that the values of the Tri Hita Karana concept have actually been clearly regulated by the government and integrated through Law no. 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism.
"So it is appropriate that the Provincial Government of Bali must support it. Because what we are doing is an action program to preserve the Tri Hita Karana concept, especially in the world of tourism on the Island of the Gods," said the man who is also a senior journalist.
